Excited to share this with you - Alexandra Pelosi has made a new Documentary in which my music has been placed in different segments throughout. Feeling proud to be a part of this very important and brave look into our current state of affairs.
Director Michael Epstein has directed this sobering account of our ongoing relationship with war. I am proud to have my music included in this new documentary on PBS.

Just finished recording the score (at the great Figure 8 recording in Brooklyn) for the next Ewers Brothers/Florentine Films documentary which will arrive on PBS in September of 2018. These sessions were with two new and wonderful friends - The great Bill Frisell (guitars) and Yoko Waynen (violin). Bryan Pugh (engineer), Putnam Murdock (guitars), Mike Brown (bass), Rubin Kodheli (cello), Jay Frederick (drums and percussion), Dan Brandtigan (flugelhorn), and Erik Ewers (director and music producer). The soundtrack is shown above which was released by Ropeadope Records. Thank you Louis, Kaya, Ben, Fabian and John!
This latest recording put out by founder John Medeski's magisterial Ropeadope records, PBS, and Florentine Films offers selections from the last ten years of writing and performing music for the films of Ken Burns and Florentine Films. Selections range from my first assignment - Leola - to the most recent project - The Vietnam War. I hope you find it engaging! Big big thanks to all of the inspiring folks at PBS, Florentine Films, and Ropeadope Records.

On September 17th this landmark documentary, by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, will premiere on PBS. Along with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and Yo -Yo Ma and The Silk Road Ensemble, I wrote the original music for this ten part series - A shout out from Rolling Stone.
I have had the great good fortune to work with the inestimable Lynn Nottage on her new project - THIS IS READING - by writing the music for a short film about some of the people currently residing in Reading. THIS IS READING is a multi media installation which is taking place in Reading PA every weekend in July at the Franklin Street Railway Station.
ROPEADOPE records released a new recording that we - Yusef Komunyakaa, Mike Brown, Shahzad Ismaily, and myself, have just finished making along with friends -Sam Ospovat, Eli Crews, and Kevin Blackler - White Dust - will drop in select physical stores worldwide and online - July 31, 2017. Dark Funiture - the 2nd part of this recording series will drop January 2019.
